as a local girl trapped the dragon with chains
transformed from noodles.
Forced to atone for its sins, the dragon continuously
poured clear spring water from underground.

That Became an Isle
A kind fisherman named Hu Zidie received an embroidered
long belt from seven local maidens.
When a sudden storm endangered the fishing boats,
he threw the belt into the river. Instead of sinking,
it stretched across the water and became a long,
narrow island.

The Blade
Against the Current
During the Three Kingdoms period, Guan Yu patrolled
the river while campaigning in Changsha.
His famous Green Dragon Blade was knocked into the
water. Instead of drifting downstream, the legendary
blade floated upstream.

Mysterious Characters
Yu the Great climbed Yuelu Mountain during a devastating
flood and helped tame the waters of the Xiang River.
To record the story, seventy-seven mysterious
tadpole characters were carved into the cliff.

Harbour
Li Jing, a famous general of the Tang Dynasty,
protected the river estuary and local people.
Grateful residents named the harbour Jinggang,
